Christopher Childers was quite literally born into performance. He began tap dancing at the age of three in his mother’s dance studio in the San Francisco Bay Area, developing an early understanding of rhythm, musicality, and discipline. His parents’ backgrounds shaped his creative foundation. His mother was a USO dancer entertaining troops during World War II, while his father was a military pilot. This balance of artistry and structure continues to define Christopher’s work today.
In 1987, Christopher was discovered by Paula Abdul and brought to Los Angeles, launching a career that spanned television, film, commercials, and world tours. He later relocated to New York City, performing on Broadway in Jerome Robbins’ Broadway, further refining his craft across both coasts.
Christopher eventually joined Cirque du Soleil, where he built a long and influential career as both a performer and choreography coach. This chapter expanded his creative vision and leadership skills, allowing him to work with international casts while shaping large scale productions that demanded precision, imagination, and emotional impact.
This diverse foundation informs everything he creates, from cinematic storytelling to immersive live experiences around the world.
Christopher truly is unique in that he creates and choreographs for the artist. He has worked with many mega stars and can see where his eye is needed. He has created dozens of live shows and events all over the world.
